Speaking during a visit by a delegation from the Chinese City of Fuzhou, Cllr Makone said in council was ready to facilitate meetings between foreign investors and private companies.
"We welcome investors for infrastructural developments, manufacturing and tourism. Our main focus is to ensure that infrastructure is upgraded in areas such as roads, water and sewer which are directly under council jurisdiction.
"We encourage the private sector to participate. If there are any people from your city with specific business interests, we can showcase the various business opportunities which they can venture in our city," he said.
Fuzhou head of delegation, Mr Lei Cheng Cai said they will soon return to the country to meet various Government departments so at to tap into the country's vast resources.
"We are here to research and look for good partners. We think Zimbabwe is rich in resources.
"We hope to meet Government officials, and hopefully work on some projects," he said.
He added that cultural exchange visits will be done to cement relations.
Fuzhou is the capital of China's south eastern province with a population of nearly 8 million people.
