Harare City Council has fully embraced new revenue collection platforms. Realising that the bulk of municipal customers are pressed for hard cash, the city introduced point of sale machines at all its revenue collection halls.


This and other bill payment platforms introduced by the city are part of the Ease of Doing Business with council. Convenience for the customer is the hallmark of service delivery.

Customers who ordinarily had to queue at banks to withdraw money to settle their municipal bills now easily walk into any of the city’s revenue halls and swipe. They can also ecocash or telecash in the comfort of their homes, offices and during their travels.

In addition to the ease of bill payment – all the city’s revenue halls are connected to the internet a development that makes it easy for all our customers to transact in real time.

Customers can check their bills any time and from any council revenue offices. Customers can also check the status of their bills from the comfort of their homes and offices. All they need to do is visit the City of Harare website: and follow the instruction prompts. From the City website homepage, you click on Bill Enquiry on the top menu, the link will direct you to a window that will ask you for the account number and pin number. If you are not yet registered you follow the link for new users. The following information will be required on registration;

The use of plastic money has many advantages for our customers. Chiefly the use of plastic money eliminates the need for carrying huge cash which in most cases presents customers with risk of thefts and robberies.
