BRICKLAYER FOREMAN
Position Overview
INTERNAL RE-ADVERTISEMENT. N.B Those who had applied on the earlier advert need not re-apply. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill in the above mentioned vacancies the Architectural Division of the Department of Works.
Job Purpose
The position exists to provide improved construction quality in construction. It is responsible for supervising and coordinating bricklaying and masonry operations on site to ensure work is completed safely, to specification, on time, and within budget.
Key Performance Areas
Ensure all brickwork, blockwork, plastering, and pointing meets drawings and specs.
Achieve daily or weekly output targets.
Enforce 100% PPE compliance and safe scaffolding/ladder use.
Ensure material, tools and plant are used correctly.
Coordinate with carpenters, steel fixers, and plasterers to avoid clashes.
Mentor apprentices and upskill semi-skilled workers.
Work within the allocated budget for labor and materials.
Mobilize required resources for work to be completed.
Provide estimates of materials required for a particular project or season as well as authorize withdrawal of materials from the store. Supervise subordinates.
Qualifications and Experience
At least Five (5) ‘O’ levels 1
Skilled Worker Class 1 Bricklayer
Five (5) years post qualification experience
Class 4 Drivers Licence
