Government is set to appoint the Local Government Board to expedite resolution of labour issues of senior council officials and the appointment of substantive heads. Some senior council officials have been suspended. Local Government Minister Hon July Moyo said the LGB would be in place soon. “I want to assure you that we shall within the shortest possible time, appoint the LGB so that all outstanding disciplinary cases may be concluded, while new substantive appointments are made to fill the existing gaps,” he said. His remarks were heard during a speech read on his behalf by Acting Harare DC Mrs Kampila.
