Ward 10 councillor Hammy Madzingira is changing the lives of Sunningdale residents after embarking on various programmes aimed at teaching youths psychomotor skills.
A number of residents have also benefited from projects like sewing, baking, welding, interior decor trainingt that are being done to change peoples lives in Sunningdale, help them earn a living and have a positive impact on their personal lives.
So far, Cllr Madzingira has also spearheaded the building of an ECD block at Sunningdale Primary School, extension of the Sunningdale 2 Clinic and also worked on rehabilitating grounds in Sunningdale 3.
‘These projects are being done to transform the community through teaching them working skills that enable them to become self employed and self sustaining,” he said.
Cllr Madzingira said some of the projects are meant to fight social ills such as drug abuse.
“The projects are meant to fight drug issues among youths and teach them to life changing skills so that they work for themselves,’ Said Cllr Madzingira.
Madzingira said that the only way to help people was to introduce different projects.
He said the life changing skills have equipped youths with skills and some are now opening their own businesses such as catering and welding.
