Ward 43 Clr Blessing Duma says Budiriro extension, Current and Cabs residents will benefit immensely from the new Budiriro 7 Council School. In an interview with Sunshine News, Clr Duma said Council is proud to have a state of the art school which was built by the City in Partnership with Royal Comfort Group of Schools. “Budiriro 7 Council Primary School has come in handy when we needed it most. More than 75 000 people reside in ward 43 hence the need for more schools. We had only two council primary schools in the area and one government primary school. As it stands Budiriro 7 primary school will now take care of residents who reside in the Current area going down to Cabs while council is looking to add more in the area,” said Clr Duma. Council now has 34 schools’ courtesy of the partnership. The new school is now awaiting administration processes for enrolment to start. He said “If you look at the architecture of the building, this is a state of the art school compared to other schools. We are awaiting ministerial modalities for it to be operational, but we are hoping that beginning third term we will be open to pupils.” Located near Current Shopping Centre, the school is the first to serve Budiriro 5 extension and Cabs community. The eight classroom blocks will house ECD classes up to Grade 7 with one class per grade. The project was completed in record 24 months.
