Ward 15 - Warren Park Councillor Tafadzwa Machirori yesterday hosted the Karuwa Sports and Arts Festival, celebrating sports, arts and community engagement.
The festival brought together three wards - Kambuzuma, Warren Park, and Rugare to provide a platform for young people to showcase their skills and talents.
"We are trying to discourage our youth from engaging in drug and substance abuse by providing a responsible alternative to fun.
"We want to encourage our young people to engage in sports activities and move to a more responsible and healthy lifestyle," said Cllr Machirori.
The festival featured a range of sporting disciplines, including soccer, netball, marshal arts and special olympics for mentally challenged children.
Cllr Machirori also urged community members to maintain a clean environment for their health and well-being.
The festival is a commendable effort by the local authority to promote positive activities in the community.
